Simple Tip for Managing Your Online Reputation

Online reputation management has become a part of doing business in a high-tech world. You may not think this is something you need to pay attention to but regardless of how good you are and how worthy your intentions, think again.

Your reputation is one of your most valuable assets. Even when you give your best efforts to your clients and customers, ineveitably there’s someone who you simply can’t satisfy. A mentor of mine used to comment “there’s only a few really mean and terrible people in the world, but they sure do get around a lot.” I hope you don’t have to deal with any of those folks – either offline or online.  However, it pays to know what’s being said about you.

Social media has made it possible for anyone to say anything at anytime in a variety of channels.  If people are talking about you online, let’s hope it’s good. But either way, you need to know what’s being said about you and your business.

One simple way to do this is through Google alerts. It is recommended you sign up for alerts for your name as well as your business name. It only takes a moment. You can do it HERE
